Spring Fling 2022
Spring is here, and you know what that means….time for Ciara O’Neal and Kaitlyn Sanchez’s annual #SpringFlingKidLit contest! The rules: find a Springtime gif and write a very short 150 words or less story based on your gif.
THE EARLY WORM GETS THE BIRD
Robin woke up extra early and immediately sprang out of his nest. It was the first day of spring. He’d been waiting an ENTIRE winter for this day!
Today HE was going to get the early worm. He’d never been up early enough to be that bird. He chirped uncontrollably, he was so excited.
He flapped out of his nest, scurried along the dew laden grass, and then stopped. Sticking straight out of the ground was THE EARLY WORM. Was this worm joking? He wasn’t even trying to hide. He was as bright as a neon vacancy sign. After locking eyes with another bird, Robin quickly raced to the worm. HE MADE IT FIRST! He pulled, yanked and tugged with all his might.
